Bally was established in 1851 by Carl Franz Bally in the Swiss village of Schönenwerd. Traditionally, the family manufactured ribbons. But after a business trip to Paris, Carl Franz Bally decided to switch production to shoes. He tested several styles on his wife, returned to Switzerland, consulted local cobblers and begun pioneering the techniques used in early shoe manufacturing. As the longest existing luxury brand worldwide, Bally is continuously strengthening its growth year after year.
